  1. I only scanned through your review because, coincidentally, I happen to be reading “The Long Goodbye” right now and I didn’t want to know how it ends.

    I love Raymond Chandler’s writing. His seedy 1950s L.A. is fascinating.

    • I’m so envious you have that in front of you! Such a marvelous book. His writing is so compelling. His metaphors alone! I love when he goes on a tear. The “not human tonight” reflection–I think in The Little Sister–haunts me every time I read about Marlowe.
