As a practicing Salafi Muslim, I am offended by this particular blog post. You are encouraging females to subvert the authority of men. You are also encouraging women to display their bodies in public. I must share this offensive post with my friends and colleagues.

    • I am sorry to hear that you were offended. I would never encourage women to display their bodies in any way that makes them uncomfortable. I was talking specifically about my thoughts on this superhero franchise. While it appears we don’t share the same ideas on women’s rights, I appreciate your taking the time to share your opinion.

  2. This I love: “her awesome metal accessories”.

I really enjoyed your post and your thoughts on strong women in film. Women throughout history and in many different cultures have had to carry agonizing burdens and make incredible sacrifices. So many of them were, and remain, the proverbial unsung heroes.

Therefore, it’s refreshing to celebrate a woman who is a hero and everyone can SEE she’s a hero. I haven’t seen the film, but I’m assuming Wonder Woman is not using her powers to enrich herself or oppress others, but to Right Wrongs and bring justice.

    Great post, Leah! 🙂

  3. I have been a Wonder Woman comic book fan (& tv show) since the 70’s, and have been looking forward to this film! I missed it in the theater, it hope to rent it soon. Thanks for the great post!
